May 12, 2009 (Virginia Beach, VA) - On May 12-14 of 2009, American Innovations, Inc. featured the XD-2i Explosives Detector at the Joint Warfighting Conference held at the Virginia Beach Convention Center, VA. The conference provided a premier venue for engaging military professionals and industry leaders that shape the nation’s military strategies and Warfighting platforms.
Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines participated in demonstrations of the XD-2i explosives detector, learning first hand of its ability to detect in a single test commercial, military and homemade (HME) explosives, trace and bulk. Being small, weighing less than 2 pounds, and safe for use without personal protective equipment intrigued many. Being easy to use, requiring no maintenance, and capable of detecting the full spectrum of threat explosives with no warm-up, no calibration, no clear-down delays or requirements, and regardless of operational environment prompted discussion with commanders and officers regarding new tactical uses for the XD-2i explosives detector in detecting IEDs and Homemade Explosives (HME).
Further discussions are ongoing regarding future deployments of the XD-2i explosives detector at U.S. bases around the world.
